How to help skin look younger – Featured Product – Growth Factor Serum

20 Jan

What happens to the skin as it ages?

Well, what we really notice first and foremost is the desquamation process (shedding of dead skin cells) slows down. Consequently, our skin doesn’t retain moisture as well, and can appear rough, uneven and lacking the radiance of youth. Also, as the skin ages- we start to see the formation of lines and wrinkles as well as loss of firmness/tone due to the breakdown and slowdown of production of collagen and elastin in the dermis (middle layer of the skin).

So, what can we do to help skin look younger?

My top recommendations:
1) Protect (always wear sunscreen…did I say always?!)
2) Exfoliate (regular at home exfoliation and/or professional facial treatments help facilitate the removal of dead surface cells)
3) Nourish (moisturizer and growth factor serums hydrate and strengthen skin)

Speaking of nourish…Are you familiar with EGF (epidermal growth factor) as a skin care ingredient? Epidermal Growth Factor increases cell renewal after any exfoliation and assists the skin in wound healing. It is an excellent home care maintenance product in that it nourishes and provides support that slows down the aging of the skin. By topically providing the skin with this essential nutrient, the skin experiences a healthier outcome.

Functions of the Skin

14 Jan

Organic Facials in Plano, TXHow well do you know skin?? Our skin is truly amazing. Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of the human body…and that other than the brain, it is the most complex? The skin and its many layers comprise what is called the integumentary system. There are 6 primary functions of the integumentary system:

-protection (shields internal tissues from external toxins, pollutants, bacteria and extreme temperatures)

-absorption (vitamins, oxygen, water, and other substances penetrate the skin through thousands of pores)

-secretion (sebum keeps skin soft and pliable)

-excretion (the skin is the body’s largest wast removal system – toxins and waste are released through sweat glands and pores)

-regulation (keeps body temperature where it’s supposed to be)

-sensation (skin contains millions of nerve endings to help us detect heat, cold, pain, pressure, etc.)

So, since our skin does so much for us…it only seems fair that we do our very best to take care of it.

The Minus 10 Facial begins with deep cleanse using a sumptuous blend of the Milk Plus and Maui Cleanser.  This is followed by the Purifying Lotion to tone and prepare the skin for the enzyme application – a customized blend of Cherry Jubilee Enzyme, Papaya Tangerine Enzyme and Mandelic Arginine Peel. This will stimulate cellular turnover, infuse the skin with antioxidants and provide hydration.  Following the enzyme, the Hibiscus Peel is applied evenly then massaged into the skin to brighten, heal, hydrate, and further the cell regeneration.  To repair and strengthen the skin, the ChronoPeptide A and Omega 6 EFA are massaged into the skin.  Firming Apple Wine Peel can be layered over or mixed in with the mask blend of the Milk Mask and Grape Seed Parfait Mask to take this treatment to the next level.  To finish, AGEless, Peptide 38, Drop of Essence Hydration Drops, and Sheer Tint Finisher are applied to leave skin absolutely glowing.
